Seminar Week (051-0901-12)
Organizer: Chair of Prof. Ursprung
Lecturers: Andres Bosshard
Time: 22.10 - 26.10.2012
Location: HIF B 44.1

Every architect is an active player in the sea of sounds of the city. Walls speak, floors reflect, buildings resonate, steel, glass, concrete define urban sound. As soon as the architect starts to listen, he will perceive a new dimension of tonal ranges, which are hidden to the sharpest eye.

Noise, sound and acoustics are a blind spot within current architecture. The potential of a building regarding to its sound design is not identified only by noise values and acoustic corrections.
The seminar wants to sensibilize the students fort hat issue. In the workshop they are taught the principles of 'aural architecture' and investigate current 'soundscape' contexts and projects and have a look at a future urban sound development (plan sonore).

The number of participants is limited to minimum 8, maximum 30-35 students.
